Tomatin 18 YO Highland Single Malt Whisky 46% vol. 0,70l
La Tomatin 18 YO una punta segreta della serie della distilleria. Gli ultimi 2,5 anni di maturazione sono trascorsi in botti di sherry Oloroso, a beneficio della corpositdel whisky e della formazione di un whisky eccellente. Nel 2013, Tomatin stata la prima distilleria a installare una caldaia a vapore ecologica, alimentata con pellet di legno prodotto localmente. Per ogni albero abbattuto, ne vengono piantati due nuovi.
Notedi degustazione
- Aroma: intenso con belle note di sherry dolce, affumicatura sottile e sentori di mela e vaniglia.
- Palato: inizialmente dolce con note di miele e legno di quercia, seguito da aromi di agrumi e cioccolato fondente.
- Inizio: straordinariamente lungo e asciutto

Habe den Whisky als Probe zu Weihnachten bekommen und hatte mich sofort drin verliebt.
Etwas fruchtig, etwas torfig, wenig rauchig. Er hat eine super Farbe, schmeckt mild, ist aber stark im Abgang.

Ich kann es nicht bewerten weil es ein Weihnachtsgeschenk für meinen Sohn ist . Ich gebe trozdem 5 Punkte weil mein Sohn schon einen Tomatin hatte , allerdings nur 8 Jahre und der war schon super .

Letztes Jahr hatte ich den Whisky bei einer Messe probiert und mir vorgenommen ihn bei Gelegenheit meiner (kleinen) Sammlung einzuverleiben. Ich bevorzuge ältere im Sherry- oder Madeira-Fass gereifte Schotten ohne allzu viel Torf und Rauch.

Toller Whisky den ich so noch nicht gekannt habe.das Rauchige mit der Sherrynote ist für mich sehr ausgeglichen.
