Gegründet wurde Macduff 1992 von Charles Murray, Stewart MacDuff und Edward Thomas, die zuvor für renommierte Whisky-Marken tätig waren. Gemeinsam gründeten sie Macduff, um Whisky abzufüllen, die ihren Vorstellungen entsprachen.
